Head of the Facility Management Department at the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent since 2019. In addition, I am the strategic manager of the internal security service in various museums in Ghent. I specialize in organizational security management, museum security, and crisis management.
In 2022, I obtained the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification from ASIS International.. For several years I have been involved in various multidisciplinary projects and initiatives within (museum) security, including GRACE, ICMS, the emergency think tank of FARO and ASIS International Benelux Chapter.

Consultant with the Ghent local police force with almost 15 years of experience in communication and law enforcement policy. In 2016, I was one of the founders of 'Behind Enemy Minds'.
I train front-line colleagues in spotting and understanding deviant behavior and preparing for a criminal attack. Thanks to my academic training in education and journalism, I succeed in developing fascinating courses on observation techniques, non-verbal communication and proactive security using gamification and action learning so that courses are both valuable and fun.

When you think like an attacker and actually walk in his footsteps, you experience reality and the environment in a completely different way. This brings you new insights and helps you thwart their plans. It's also a confrontational experience to pierce through your own defensive layer. It leads to introspective moments, because you look for the enemy within your own thinking, your own systems, your own procedures. Yes, sometimes those are hard lessons.”
